SCOPE Ontology

A Smart City Infrastructure Ontology for Threats,Cybercrime, and Digital Forensic Investigation developed by ASSET Research Group

Introduction

Welcome to the official website of the SCOPE Ontology, a cutting-edge framework designed to enhance interoperability and standardization in the field of digital forensics and cybersecurity. SCOPE builds on existing frameworks such as UCO (Unified Cyber Ontology) and CASE (Cyber-investigation Analysis Standard Expression) to provide a robust, technology-agnostic solution for modern cyber challenges.

About SCOPE

The SCOPE Ontology addresses critical gaps in the current landscape of digital forensics and cybersecurity ontologies. It integrates seamlessly with existing tools and frameworks while extending their capabilities to cover emerging technologies and scenarios. By adhering to international standards like ISO, SCOPE ensures consistent and reliable representation of cyber incidents and investigations. SCOPE uses Mitre CAPEC v3.9 and ATT&CK v14.1.

For a detailed explanation about SCOPE, please read our peer-reviewed publication in Forensic Science International: Digital Investigation. You can access the full paper here or visit the FSIDI journal.
